Rezoning application bylaw for Nootka Street enters first reading, qathet Regional District

Rezoning is being considered by the qathet Regional District for a property located on Yaroshuk Road.

According to the district, a first reading is scheduled to take place on Apr. 29 to hear whether the district will allow a permit for an existing accessory dwelling unit.

The amendments would include that under section five of the land use regulations; an additional residence be applied to the bylaw as long as the size complies with permits.

“One additional dwelling unit having a floor area no greater than 1,200 square feet (111.5 square metres) is permitted,” is what the amendment would read.

The district is expected to consider all applications for an amendment to any zoning bylaw under the Local Government Act, Part 14, Division 2, Section 460.

Debate is expected to start next week, for more information visit the district’s website.
